The Veranda brings the past and present together in a very tasteful yet comfortable setting. The Veranda is situated in the Robert E. Lee Historic School District, only four blocks from the original school where dance, theatre and art classes, as well as other functions, are now offered in the renovated building.

Built in 1909 - 1910, the Veranda maintains much of its original charm. The woodwork and fireplaces are in original condition, while extensive renovations on the interior and exterior were completed.

All rooms in the house are appointed with today's modern conveniences including wireless Internet, TV and central air conditioning and heat. There are gas fireplaces in the bedrooms, parlor and library for the comfort of our guests.

Verandas have long appealed to Southerners, and this worthy architectural design is alive and well in Paris, Tenn. White wicker rockers invite guests to read the morning paper or wile away an afternoon on the front porch.

On the west side of the home, the Morning Veranda is the ideal spot to start the day. Nestled beneath summer pecan foliage and situated above the garden, breakfast is often served here.

A special place to toast the day's end, the Garden Patio is a favorite gathering place from early spring until late fall. The Veranda's Evening Primroses open before your eyes in mid-summer while cooler weather brings a cozy evening in front of the fire on the patio. The gardens in the back of the property feature a large variety of flowering bushes that bring beauty to all seasons.

The Veranda's comfortable interior is appointed with antiques from throughout the region. The parlor is a cozy place for a quiet read in the glow of an old-fashioned gas grate, or to enjoy your favorite programs on high definition television.

The library across the hall is also available for relaxing with a good book.

Adjacent to the parlor, the elegant comfort of the formal dining room makes every meal an experience to remember.

Two cozy guest rooms are available. Both are on the ground floor and have queen size beds and totally private adjacent baths. The Wisteria Room, with decor inspired by the wisteria that winds around the front porch, features a classic four-poster bed and abundant closet space. The Evening Primrose Room is decorated in the sunny color of its namesake. Each room comes with guest robes, and offers high speed, wireless Internet access and television.

The Veranda is a friendly site for vacation travelers, those visiting friends and relatives, participants in the biannual Timberframe Workshop and guests to the annual World's Biggest Fish Fry. Whatever brings you to northwest Tennessee, the hospitality of the Veranda will bring you back.
